Terms of service.
Blackline Transportation · Tacoma & Gig Harbor, Washington · Effective August 2026. Booking a ride means you agree to these terms — they're short and written in plain English on purpose.
01The service
Blackline Transportation provides pre‑arranged, private chauffeur transportation — airport transfers, hourly service, and point‑to‑point rides — in the South Sound region of Washington State. All rides are reserved in advance; we are not an on‑demand rideshare. Service is provided in a late‑model luxury SUV seating up to 6 passengers with luggage.
02Fares & payment
Your fare is quoted before you book and confirmed before your chauffeur departs — no meters, no surge pricing. Flat‑rate transfers include a set mileage package (Tacoma pickups: first 30 miles · Gig Harbor pickups: first 38 miles); distance beyond the package is billed at $3/mile as shown at booking. Hourly service is $75/hour with a 2‑hour minimum. Pickups between 10pm and 5am add 15%. Round trips booked together receive 10% off the return leg.
Payment is accepted online (card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal), in the vehicle by tap‑to‑pay or cash, or by monthly invoice for approved corporate accounts. Card details are processed by Stripe or PayPal and never touch our systems. Gratuity is never required and always appreciated.
03Cancellation policy
Free cancellation up to 12 hours before your scheduled pickup — full refund, no questions.
Inside 12 hours: 50% of the fare is due, since that time was reserved exclusively for you and turned away from other riders.
No‑show or cancellation inside 2 hours: the full fare is due.
Flight delays are always free. We track your flight — if the airline moves, your pickup moves with it at no charge. Same for cruise ship arrival changes.
To cancel or change a ride, text or call (601) 521‑8061 or reply to your confirmation message. Weather emergencies (Narrows Bridge closures, snow events) are handled case‑by‑case and we'll always be fair.
04Complimentary waiting time
Door pickups: 15 minutes free after your scheduled time.
SeaTac & airport arrivals: 60 minutes free from when your flight touches down — time to deplane, hit baggage claim, and walk out without rushing. We're tracking your flight, so this window moves with your actual landing.
Beyond the complimentary window, waiting is billed at the hourly rate ($75/hr) in 15‑minute increments. Your chauffeur will always text before any waiting charge starts.
05In the vehicle
- Seat belts are required for all passengers at all times; children ride in appropriate child or booster seats (available on request — mention ages when booking).
- No smoking or vaping. Food is fine with care; open alcohol is not permitted under Washington law.
- Damage or biohazard cleaning (spills, sickness) carries a fee of up to $250 to cover professional detailing and lost bookings.
- We may decline or end service, without refund, for unsafe, unlawful, or abusive behavior.
06Lost items
We check the vehicle after every ride. Found items are held securely and returned at the next convenient opportunity — or delivered for a standard point‑to‑point fare if you need them urgently. Text (601) 521‑8061 as soon as you notice something missing.
07Liability & insurance
Blackline Transportation operates as a licensed for‑hire carrier in Washington State, and every ride is covered by commercial livery insurance with up to $1,000,000 in liability protection — the professional industry standard. Our liability for any claim related to a ride is limited to the amount paid for that ride, except where the law says otherwise. We are not liable for missed flights, sailings, or events caused by circumstances beyond reasonable control — extreme traffic incidents, bridge closures, weather, or acts of third parties — though we plan conservatively and communicate early precisely so this never happens.
08The legal basics
These terms are governed by the laws of Washington State. We may update them from time to time; the version on this page applies to your booking. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest still stands. Questions? book@thatblackline.com.
